The Providence Athletic mission is to develop a first class athletic program committed to excellence while building Christian character. Therefore, the mission of the Providence cheerleader is to glorify God in service to the athletes by encouraging them, supporting the fans by leading them and representing the school throughout the community.
Team verse:“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23-24)
It is our prayer that each Providence cheerleader will
- glorify God
- demonstrate a positive attitude toward the school, its’ rules, teachers, and Christian standards
- promote and uphold school spirit and demonstrate good sportsmanship
- develop discipline in individual lives and leadership skills
- exhibit maturity and attributes of a Christ-centered life
- demonstrate knowledge and ability of cheerleading
