Academic Profile    
Students who graduate from Providence Christian Academy complete a rigorous, traditional, college-preparatory curriculum, which includes fine arts, the humanities, the sciences, and four years of Biblical studies. In addition, each student contributes to the community by providing sixty hours of service.

Academic Year 
The academic year is based on two semesters with approximately 91 days in each semester for a total of 182 school days. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday are seven period days. On these days each class meets for 50 minutes. Wednesday and Thursday periods are extended to 90 minutes. Periods 1-3 meet on Wednesday and periods 4-7 meet on Thursday.

During the 2009-10 school year, eighty-two students wrote one hundred and nine examinations, seventy percent had a score of three and higher.
 


GPA and Numeric Grades 
Core GPA, core numerical, overall GPA and overall numerical grades are calculated at the end of each semester. All grades are entered as numerical grades. Honors and AP courses receive additional points. Honors courses receive two points and AP Courses receive seven points added to the final subject grade.

A student’s position in class is given on a percentage scale. 

Grading Scale
90-100 = 4.0 80-89 = 3.0 75-79 = 2.0 70-74 = 1.0 69-Below = Failing
 
Testing 
The Elementary Stanford Achievement Test X is given in kindergarten through seventh grade. Scores for K-7 are in the 95th percentile and above. EXPLORE is given in eighth grade. The PLAN test is given to ninth and tenth grades and the PSAT/NMSQT is given to ninth through eleventh grades.

Faculty
Providence Christian Academy has 39 academic staff members at the high school level, and 38 in the elementary. There is a ratio of one professional staff member to 13 students for high school, and in the elementary school, the ratios are as follows:

Teaching Assistants are also involved in the classroom on a daily basis.
