This is a list of classroom accommodations allowed by Providence for students
with psycho-educational testing. The specific accommodation(s) needed by the
student will be specified in the Letter of Accommodations.

Extended time for testing

Testing given orally rather than written

Allowing students to take tests in a quiet, distraction free environment

Allowing the use of a Word Bank or Formulas for tests

Allowing testing on a different day if several tests fall on the same day

Allowing student to check understanding of directions or test questions (verbal
or written), or asking the teacher to rephrase a question or directions

Preferential seating where eye contact can be maintained with the teacher

Allowing frequent movement without disrupting the class

Note-taking supplements, i.e. teacher provided outline or notes, a “note-taking
buddy” who supplements student’s notes, use of tape recorder to tape lectures

Allowing use of a calculator for math

Allowing use of a Spelling Ace for writing activities

Allowing written work to be done on a computer

Reducing the amount of homework given

Allowing student to purchase a second set of student books (not the Teacher
Editions) or to listen to books on tape
